Our inspiration for picking up the camera has and always will be our couples. Katrina and I have been fortunate enough to not only have these people accept us to document the most important day of their lives, but also to accept us to be their friends and family. Your stories are our life.

Brandon started his photography career in college when he joined the school newspaper. A passion for capturing real moments and telling the story led him to become the photography editor and win several awards for his coverage within only a year. Shortly afterwards he began shooting weddings with Katrina using this same style. The rest is history.

Kristen + Austin

Photographed by Brandon Wong and Katrina Santos. Written by Brandon Wong

We always ask our couples to pick a location that’s meaningful to them for their engagement session. Although since Kristen and Austin had just moved here from Washington DC they had a bit of trouble picking out a spot. Our problem was solved when we discovered that Austin actually proposed to Kristen at their new house in Santa Monica and of course we got doubly excited when we found out that they had a Golden Retriever named Fiona. After shooting at their beautiful home we headed over to the Viceroy to finish our engagement pictures.

Vivian + Calvin

Photographed by Brandon Wong and Katrina Santos. Written by Brandon Wong

For Vivian’s wedding present, Calvin had their favorite artist, Chris Appelhans make a custom painting just for her to add to their growing collection. I thought it was one of the most thoughtful gifts I had ever seen and it really showed Calvin’s dedication to their relationship. They were so inspired by one of their engagement session pictures that they had their friends build a lighting overhang in the middle of the reception room. On top of that the couple hand made many of the decorations adding a personal touch to the entire vibe of the wedding. Make sure to catch their slideshow below!

Serena + Johnny

Within the first couple minutes of our shoot I was already asking Serena to hop onto high ledges with her heels. Without hesitation she jumped on and was ready to go. We knew from that point on that it was going to be a fun day. It was great hanging out and shooting around Downtown Claremont where Katrina and I spent many of our first dates. We’re looking forward to shooting their wedding which happens to be at one of our favorites restaurants Summit House.

Faurum + Alex

Most of our couples book anywhere from six months to more than a year in advance, so we were surprised when Faurum and Alex contacted us almost six weeks before their wedding. Turns out their special day had moved from the middle of 2011 to mid October very last minute. On top of that I was informed that they were going to be featured on TLC’s “Wedding Day Makeover” which was an interesting and new element in the mix.

Despite all of the last minute planning the wedding turned out beautifully. As a surprise Faurum and Alex went off and cut their wedding cake on a boat at the end of their beachfront dual-wedding ceremony. We had a great time at the wedding and we can’t wait for the episode to premiere on TV.
