Tikko Studios was kind enough to throw a little lighting workshop for all the photographers in Southern California. It took place in their relatively new studio and man does their place make me jealous. Models Jeramee Lopez and my man Robert Ryu came out to support and do their thing. Unfortunately I came to a corrupted and half empty compact flash card so most of my pictures were missing, but here are some that managed to survive.

Friends Melissa, Brian, and Scott Roeder tagged along too. If you check their blogs all of them should have pictures from the event up as well.

This Christmas my lovely girlfriend Katrina was blessed with a Canon G10.
This thing is a BEAST.

This Christmas my lovely girlfriend Katrina was blessed with a Canon G10.

This thing is a BEAST.

-14.7 Megapixels
-Better 3 inch screen than my 40D
-Great battery life (lasted for the little photo shoot only after a quick five minute charge)
-Superb image quality at low ISO
-Insane depth of field
-Takes my 580EX on it’s hotshoe
-Excellent body build

Although we were contemplating between this and the Panasonic LX-3 we went with the Canon due to the sturdier body. It also had an overall better feel to it when taking pictures. Not too long ago Luminous Landscapes did an article comparing the $40,000 39 megapixel Hasselblad H2 and the $450 15 megapixel Canon G10 at lower ISOs. What they found was unbelievable. The images compared side by side on a computer monitor were basically identical without in depth zooming. They even printed the pictures 13×19” and still had a hard time discerning between the two.

And after these pictures I took with the camera, Katrina and I couldn’t argue for a better compact camera. Plus that brick just oozes sexy.
